I wanted to isolate myself from all the generic New York City scenery and search for the real spirit of the city. The classic Brooklyn Bridge really attracted me. Full of amazing history. Built over 150 years ago, its presence really spoke to me. I spent the day shooting many angles, but this image said it all, the converging lines of the wires and the stunning architecture were all in unison. I choose a black and white print, which represented my feelings at the time, and really added character to the shot. Even the people on the bridge fit the moment. Love it.
